The Pisgah covered bridge has a lesson to teach about climate change. It was washed off its foundations in 2003 by flooding. We know that heavy rainfall events are increasing as the atmosphere warms. We also know that some of those events will occur on creeks with historic bridges. Let's hope those bridges will be put back together like the Pisgah bridge. [2019]
