St. Mary's Basilica reminds us of the
Roman Catholic tradition this Easter weekend. The architecture is Roman, befitting the Church of Rome. At one time, all of Christianity was united. Then, the Bishop of Rome asserted spiritual primacy, and the eastern bishops in Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem decided they just couldn't take it any more. [2009]
