Tangier Island, Virginia, USA

No bridge or artificial causeway makes it possible to drive to Tangier. Its a real island, more like the ones you encounter off the coast of Maine. The islanders here must envy their Maine counterparts, however. Their islands have a hard-rock geology, while Tangier has a no-rock geology. As a result the island is slowly being eroded away.
