Chiang Mai, Thailand

Nature has a use for black and white stripes, too, but think about the contrast. Lighthouses and jailbirds wear stripes to make them stand out. So, are we to believe that zebras wear stripes to make them blend in? That's the camouflage hypothesis. This effigy is on the grounds of a temple that venerates wild animals. [2011]
