The building here is still officially the capitol of Arizona even though not even one of the three branches of government operates out of it. So, is it really the state capitol? It does house the State Capitol Museum: Does that make it the capitol? One fact is easier to state with certainty: Arizona became the 48th state to join the union on this date in 1912. [2019]
