Dating back to the 1890s,
St.Michael's is the oldest permanent Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada. It joined the Greek Orthodox Church in 1922 for reasons you can figure out if you know anything about Russian history. Still, it has remained a focal point of Ukrainian identity. [2012]
