What you see on the landscape – a great amphitheater for a great city – also jingles around in the pockets of all those visitors. The city is Rome. The amphitheater is the Colosseum. And, the jingle is Italy’s 5-cent euro coin, which carries the first century into the twenty-first by featuring the Roman Empire's greatest architectural achievement. [2006]
