Would American Thanksgiving be celebrated differently if Ben Franklin had acted upon his fondness for the turkey: "For my own part I wish the bald eagle had not been chosen as the representative of our country." The turkey, on the other hand, was seen by Franklin as a bird of courage. [2019]
