The rainbow lorikeet is an eye-catcher, and the Birmingham zoo has the best collection in the world (perhaps an exaggeration). Visitors are allowed to enter their confines, where these Austro-Pacific natives often perch on your shoulders or arms. They are very social and make friends easily: even with their human visitors.
