'El Ceviche' is its nickname, provided by Yucatecans who were reminded of marinating seafood. In fact, there's greater variety than what you see here in the center of the fountain. The sculpture occupies the main roundabout in Cancun and is fast becoming the symbol of the city. Were it not for Hurricane Gilbert, however, it would probably not be here at all. [2013]
