Mount Vernon, Virginia, USA
Every Southern Plantation had its mill, and Mount Vernon was no exception. As it exists today, Washington's Grist Mill is a reconstruction of the original. It now offers visitors a chance to reflect on the economic geography of the 18th century and the importance of renewable energy resources.
